SCOUT groups helped swell the crowd during a Kidderminster Harriers home football match as part of a special scouting day.

More than 300 Beaver Scouts, Cubs, Scouts, Leaders and parents from Kidderminster and District Scouts attended the event at the Harriers’ Aggborough ground when the club beat Welling United 2-0 on Saturday.

It was the fourth season in a row that Kidderminster and District Scouting has supported the Harriers and the Scouting sections provided three of the mascots for the day, who led out the teams proudly wearing the Harriers kit along with their group neckerchief.

The mascots were six-year-old Beaver Alfie Smith who is a member of the 21st Kidderminster (Brinton Park) scout group beaver colony.

James Southall-Clee, eight, representing the First Kidderminster (Sea Scouts) Cub pack also joined the players along with Logan Ashdown, 11, a Scout with 9th Kidderminster (Spennells) troop.

During half-time in the match, 36 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts also took part in three six-a-side games to entertain the crowd under the guidance of Harriers Football in the Community officer Nick Griffiths.
