YOUNGSTERS in Areley Kings donned special Easter hats for a competition.

Londis Areley Kings Village Supermarket and Post Office, in Areley Common, hosted an Easter bonnet contest for children in the village on Saturday.

The young people modelled their creations for the three judges, who were Stourport Mayor and Mayoress Ken and Lin Henderson and Areley Kings resident Robert Lloyd.

Manager of the Londis store, Vikki Archer, said: "It is great to be able to support the local children and it was lovely to see them parading proudly around the store in their beautiful bonnets.

"It was clear they had spent a lot of time decorating their hats and the judges had a very hard job choosing the best bonnet. All the children received a prize for taking part."

The winners were five-year-old Chloe-Marie Talbot in the two to five years category and Sophie-Leigh Smith, six, in the six to 10 competition.
