A KIDDERMINSTER bus driver got out from behind the wheel to raise more than £1,200 for a cancer charity in a sponsored 10-mile walk.

Andy Roberts, a driver for First Bus UK, took on the walk from Worcester to Earls Croome, supported by regulars from the King and Castle pub.

He also took the decision to shave his head in a bid to raise even more funds.

The 46-year-old said: "A family member of mine is suffering from breast cancer so I thought I would shave my head in support. The walk was just a spur of the moment idea.

"I am overwhelmed with the support from my friends, family and colleagues and thank them for their generosity and encouragement."
