MORE than £10,000 has been raised by a group of Kidderminster pub-goers who managed to pull a 5.5 tonne tractor nearly 13 miles.

The 39 tractor pullers, who are regulars at the Station Inn, Farfield, have collected £10,686 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Acorns Children’s Hospice and money is still rolling in.

The event, organised by the Station Inn Fundraising Team (SIFT) took place on Sunday and saw the 22 to 60-year-olds pull the tractor from the Rifleman’s Arms in Droitwich to the Station Inn, which they managed to do in four hours. People lined the streets of Kidderminster to see their return.

Tractor puller Ian Passey said: “The support we received on the day made it all worthwhile. To see so many people lining the streets to greet us gave everyone a real lift.”
