MFG Solicitors has bolstered its commercial division with two specialist appointments.

Commercial property expert Samantha Paxton has joined as an associate from Birmingham-based firm Eversheds, with fellow associate Janet Humphries, a corporate specialist with a reputation for leading complex investment transactions, moving to Mfg from Worcestershire practice Thursfields.

With an eight-year career, Ms Paxton specialises in a variety of commercial matters, including estate management for private and public sector landlords and tenants, property sale and lease back deals and acquisitions.

Ms Humphries, an experienced corporate lawyer who has advised clients across the UK during the past 20 years, is a specialist in business transfers and corporate finance and has earned a reputation for advising businesses seeking financial investment.

Both will be working alongside commercial partner Sarah Astbury at the firm's Adam House headquarters on Birmingham Road.

Ms Astbury said: "Samantha and Janet both join us with outstanding reputations for their expertise, experience and advice across a whole host of corporate and commercial legal matters. Together they will be immense assets to Mfg and for our clients as we continue to develop services we provide across both the public and private sectors.

"They join the firm at a time of growth and both have the calibre to fit seamlessly into what is an already experienced team. I am certain they will contribute to our ongoing success in the months and years ahead."

Justin Parker, Mfg partner and head of commercial property, added: "Samantha and Janet have the qualities all modern legal professionals require. They are talented, well respected and carry first rate reputations. They will, no doubt, add extra dimensions to the firm and the department."
