CARERS in Kidderminster will soon have the backing of a support group that offers ‘knowledge, experience and friendship’.

Kinship Carers are launching the group at Simply Limitless, in Puxton Lane, on Wednesday, June 11, between 9:30am and 12:30pm.

The aim of Kinship Carers is to provide support and raise awareness for relatives who are raising children who cannot be cared for by their parents.

Meeting on the second Wednesday of every month, the group will be led by three qualified carers.

Enza Smith, one of the leaders of the Kidderminster group, said: “We’re opening the new support group as we currently have three Kinship Carers in Kidderminster.

“It is difficult for us all to get to Worcester, where the nearest support group is, so the new group in Kidderminster will be very beneficial.”

To mark the launch, members of the group plan to attend Friday’s volunteers fair at The Guild Hall, Worcester, where they are hopeful of gaining support from volunteers that want to become qualifies leaders or carers who are in need of the groups help.

Kinship Carers also offer online support where members can talk open and freely to one another in a safe and secure place.
