MORE than a thousand people attended a motorcycle event in Kidderminster which raised £1,287 for the Midland’s Air Ambulance Service.
Motorcycle fans and their families descended on Motorcycle Mart, Stourport Road, on Saturday, May 17, where they enjoyed activities such as a DJ, a bouncy castle and the chance to have their picture taken in a replica helicopter.
Cool refreshments were also provided for visitors throughout the day.
Steve Mavroidi, sales manager at Motorcycle Mart, said: “The event was a rip-roaring success – thanks in part to the fantastic weather.
“We saw over 350 visitors through the gates in the first hour alone and there was a real carnival atmosphere right from the start.
“We’d laid on plenty of entertainment to keep the whole family happy, which made it a great day out for everyone.”
Those in attendance got the chance to hear British Superbike competitor, Tommy Bridewell, speak about his experiences.
The WD40 race team, which includes Barry Burrell, Ben Young, Tarran McKenzie and a surprise visit from Niall McKenzie, also spent the day chatting with visitors.
The latest range of Yamaha bikes were available to view alongside classic bikes from Bromsgrove Motorcycle Club which were on display with the Yamaha Thunder Truck.
Other activities included demonstrator rides by the Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists.
Mr Mavroidi added: “We’ve had some really positive feedback and will definitely be running a similar event in the future.
“Raising so much for our local air ambulance was the icing on the cake and definitely made the team’s hard work worthwhile.”
