A MISSING dog who is deaf and partially blind has been found dumped on Hartlebury Common but police still want to know what happened to her.

Poppy, a 15-year-old West Highland White Terrier went missing on May 14. She escaped from a house where neighbours of the dog's owners Jan and Mike Moone were looking after her off Wilden Lane, Kidderminster.

The dog was then spotted at the Wilden Lane/ Worcester Road roundabout and police want to speak to anyone who saw a gold or beige coloured Jaguar and would like to hear from the man seen driving the vehicle.

Poppy was then found on Tuesday dumped at Hartlebury Common and is said to be in a poorly condition.

PC Jon Challoner, of West Mercia Police, said: "Poppy was found dumped on the common and is in a very poorly condition, which is upsetting for the owner although obviously it's a big relief she has been recovered.

"We are still investigating what happened to Poppy and would appeal to anyone who knows who took her to get in touch. We'd also be interested to hear from anyone who saw this dog being taken on to the common yesterday."

Mrs Moone told The Shuttle the response of the public has been "overwhelming", adding: "We would like to thank everyone who has been so helpful."

Anyone with information should call PC Challoner at Kidderminster Police Station on 101, quoting incident 540-S-220514, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
