THREE men have been arrested after a member of the public reported they were trying to open car doors in Kidderminster.

A man called police at about 2.45am yesterday to say three people were acting suspiciously.

Police found a BMW parked in Birmingham Road had been entered and discovered two men hiding in a garden and another behind a parked car. It was later discovered a sat nav worth £100 and a phone charger worth £20 had been stolen from the BMW.

They ran off but one was quickly arrested and the other two were found within 30 minutes after they were tracked by a police dog.

Three men aged 21, 19 and 18 were arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference and have been released on police bail until Monday, June 16, pending further inquiries.

A West Mercia Police statement reminded car owners to ensue vehicles are left secure with windows and doors locked and to remove property such as sat navs when they are left unattended or parked overnight.
