KEMP Hospice will hold an open day on Saturday at its charity shop on Coventry Street in Kidderminster with the aim of recruiting volunteers.

The event, which has been organised as part of the 30th anniversary of national Volunteers’ Week, is searching for individuals to sort stock, prepare items for sale, work on tills and help customers.

Lynne Jones, head of retail at Kemp Hospice, said: “We couldn’t run Kemp’s retail operation without our wonderful volunteers.

“They come to us for lots of different reasons - to gain work experience or perhaps following retirement or a bereavement to make new friends whilst supporting their local charity.

“Volunteers stay with us because they know everything they do will contribute to the vital work the Hospice does.”

The charity has shops in Kidderminster, Bewdley and Stourport.
