A GROUP of Kidderminster school pupils will be going on safari after winning a competition to design a logo for a local business.

David Hollyoak, who runs Hollyoak Recruitment, launched a competition for youngsters at Sutton Park Primary School to design his company a new logo after purchasing five VIP passes to the West Midland Safari Park at a charity fundraiser event hosted by Wyre Forest District Council chairman Fran Oborski earlier this year.

The best five designs were chosen by school staff, with those pupils going on the VIP trip.

The overall winner, year five pupil Julia Tonalak, was picked by Hollyoak Recruitment staff and her logo has been printed on the side of one of the company’s vans.

Mr Hollyoak said: “The prizes are worth £875 and the kids will get to go to the safari park before it is open, have breakfast, feed the lions, have a look behind the scenes and then go to the fair.

“We told the winners, who they were in a school assembly, last Friday. Now it will be down to the school when the trip takes place. The entries were really good and the one we have printed on to the van is the best.”

Mrs Oborski’s charity meal, held at La Brasserie, raised about £3,000 towards her chosen charities, the Kidderminster Hospitals League of Friends Scanner Appeal and Kidderminster Foodbank.
