CLEOBURY Mortimer's MP is supporting Bike Week 2014, a campaign aimed at promoting cycling as a healthy and fun method of transport.
Conservative Philip Dunne said: “Britain has a strong cycling pedigree, with many inspirational Olympians like Sir Bradley Wiggins, Sir Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton and Laura Trott, to name but a few.
"These champions have helped cycling grow markedly in popularity across the UK, and Bike Week is great opportunity to continue to build on the legacy of our cycling Olympians.
"With half of South Shropshire in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, cycling is an excellent way to explore the local countryside. It is also be a great way to keep fit and fun to ride as a family.
"We also have excellent bike shops and hiring facilities across the constituency, which organise bike events, so, as summer approaches I encourage people to dig out their bikes, get back in the saddle and experience the fun and healthy lifestyle that cycling can offer.”
National Bike Week runs until Sunday.
