CAMPAIGNERS who successfully fought a refused application for a Tesco Express in Areley Kings will hold a public meeting to discuss their next steps.
Andrew Booton, chairman of Areley Kings First, will lead a meeting, along with the group's committee at Areley Kings Village Hall, Areley Common, on Monday, June 30, at 7.30pm.
Mr Booton said the group wanted to discuss with residents updates and options going forward. Tesco is yet to confirm whether or not it will appeal against the decision to refuse its planning application to extend the Squirrel Pub, Areley Common and open a Tesco Express at the site, with spokesman Simon Petar saying the firm was waiting for the council's planning report.
Mr Booton said his group was also waiting for the decision document to be published by Wyre Forest District Council but wanted to talk to members about what could be done with the Squirrel site going forward should Tesco not appeal or how the supermarket giant's appeal could be opposed, should it go ahead.
