A CARE home in Stourport invited members of the public to join its residents as it hosted a summer garden party.
Ravenhurst Residential Care Home opened its doors to local people to share a special day as part of National Care Home Open Day.
The home’s gardens were decorated with bunting and flags ready for the unveiling of a new look courtyard and a residents’ vintage shop. Entertainment was provided by a swing band and a visit from a miniature Shetland pony.
Betty Gowan, 88, a resident at the home, said: “The pony was beautiful – although she wouldn’t fit in my room.
“I had a lovely time and really enjoyed the live music.”
David Armstrong, home manager, said: “We wanted to do something a little different for National Care Home Open Day, so thought what better way to celebrate the summer than with a spectacular garden party.
“The atmosphere was wonderful and it was great to see so many new faces from the local community come along.
“The weather couldn’t have been better.”
