AN independent health and social care services provider is inviting people in Kidderminster to find out more about advanced care planning from 11am until 12.30pmon Friday at its Brook Court care home.

The team at Brook Court is joining forces with Jenny Griffiths, advanced care planning facilitator at Kemp Hospice. She will give an introduction to advanced care planning, as well as sharing her experience with palliative care.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to ask their own questions.

Home manager, Linda Clements, said: "By hosting a seminar on the subject, we can ensure this information is communicated clearly and concisely, with visitors having the opportunity to speak directly to the professionals in this area, as well as team members from the care home.”

People attending will be able to pick up a copy of Care UK’s free Listen, Talk, Connect guide, which is intended to help friends and relatives overcome the challenges they might face in having conversations and general interaction with those living with dementia.

Brook Court is a 67-bedded care home, which opened in September, 2013.
