STOURPORT Rotary Club has elected a new president for the 2014-15 year.
During a handover presentation, acting president Don Giles presented the chain of office to president elect, Henry Danter.
President David Barrett was absent due to prolonged illness.
Speaking at the handover, Mr Giles welcomed the new president and wished him an active and successful Rotary year.
Mr Danter thanked Mr Giles for his nine months in office and these thanks were echoed by other Rotarians.
He said he had several ideas for making lunches, as well as the whole club, more attractive to potential new members, including bringing in outside speakers to the club.
Mr Giles also presented Maureen Cobb with the president elect’s medal and wished her a satisfying Rotary year.
The proceedings finished with a photo call by Jim Perry, a club founder member.
