A WYRE Forest law firm has raised £2,000 for Kemp Hospice.

Staff from Painters Solicitors, which has offices in Kidderminster and Stourport, took part in the charity’s magical midnight walk and collected sponsorship money from work colleagues, friends and family.

Gill Guest, Sharon Banks, Louise Adams, Ros Greig, Katie Jagger, Rajvir Rai and Lakhvir Bassi completed the five-kilometre challenge, which saw more than 400 women in total light up the Wyre Forest.

Lakhvir Bassi, of Painters Solicitors, said: “We had a fantastic night and it was great to be able to raise funds and support our local hospice.”

Alice McMahon, a fundraiser at the charity, said: “It is great to have local support from a business like Painters Solicitors.

“We know the girls had a great night and we look forward to seeing them again at the midnight walk in 2015.

“We would like to thank Painters Solicitors for their continued support over the last few years and we look forward to working with them again in the future.”

Kemp Hospice provides clinical, emotional and spiritual care with practical support to those in Wyre Forest with life-limiting illnesses. It also supports those that have been bereaved.

The hospice needs to raise £940,000 annually to continue to provide these services, the majority of which comes from voluntary donations and the support of the local community.
