KIDDERMINSTER police are investigating a burglary in which a sculpture worth thousands was stolen.

The burglary took place at 11.30am on August 18, at a home in Worcester Road, Harvington.

Entry was gained into the property by force, causing the alarm to be set off and damage caused.

A 59-year-old man later returned to the house, finding many valuable items had been stolen.

One of the items was a limited edition, bronze sculpture, made by Jan Sweeney. It is very rare as only 12 were made, and is worth £2,000.

Other items stolen included Hugo Boss and Armani jackets; Louis Vitton, Escada and Guess bags, and various items of jewellery worth a total of around £8,500.

Detective Constable Lloyd Davies said: “We are appealing to the public to keep a look out for any of the items being sold.

"The clothing and sculptures are rare so should be easily recognisable.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident 241 of August 18.
