A MAN who had fallen into the River Stour at Weavers Wharf, in Kidderminster, had to be rescued by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Crews from the town’s fire station, as well as West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Mercia Police, attended the incident after being alerted at 12.40am.

Firefighters were able to retrieve the man from the water by using a ladder and a rescue line.
