CREATIVE Wyre Forest children were given the chance to win front row tickets to a Kidderminster Arts Festival show as a prize in a colouring competition.

In the weeks running up to the production of Dotty the Dragon, young visitors to the library were invited to colour in a picture of Dotty for the chance to win a family ticket to the show.

The competition received many entries but it was five-year-old Lauren Kirk who impressed the judges of the Families Team with the “stand-out piece”.

Alison Robinson, of the Families Team at Kidderminster Library, said: “We were very impressed with the attention to detail and choice of vibrant colours.

“We give our congratulations to Lauren on a fantastic winning entry.”

Sarah Guppy, Lauren’s mother, said Lauren was delighted to win the competition and get the chance to watch the performance.

“We think she may be an artist when she grows up - she is so careful and precise,” she said.

Dotty the Dragon was created by Blunderbus Theatre, which will return to Kidderminster Town Hall on October 11 with a new show, Hugless Douglas, based on the book by David Melling.
