LEGENDARY pop group the Bay City Rollers will be giving Kidderminster a little love as part of their latest UK tour.

The reformed group, starring original vocalist Les McKeown, will be rollin’ into the town hall to perform on October 2.

Joined by four new members, Si Mulvey, Alex Toff, Michael Koch and Alex Southgate, the band will be performing all the well known hits including Bye Bye Baby, Shang-a-Lang and Summerlove Sensation.

Originally formed in 1966, Les joined the band in the early 1970s where the band hit national stardom after their first hit, Remember, shot up the charts to number six.

Their next three hits, Shang-a-Lang, Summerlove Sensation, and All of Me Loves All of You, all took places in the top five.

The band had their first UK number one single in May 1975 with Bye Bye Baby, which was followed by Give a Little Love in July.

Saturday Night, their first US single went straight to the number one spot of the American Billboard chart, and their first British album, Rollin’, took number one in the British album charts, the first time a debut album had done this.

Over the following two years, the band had various hits reach the top ten as well as taking to the road and touring all over the world, playing to sold out crowds in Europe, USA, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.

Les left the band in 1978, but returned in 1982 for sold out shows at Tokyo’s famous Budokan, with the success of these shows leading to another tour in 1983.

It would be more than 12 years before the band would perform together again, taking the stage in their hometown of Edinburgh for the Millennium concert festival on New Year's Eve in 1999.

The group - with their new line-up - will perform on the town hall stage at 7.30pm, where tickets costing £21.45, are available now.
