WOOBURN'S beat bobby Phil Rudd has received a commendation for his sensitive investigation into a fraud on two elderly women.
He received the award last week for work carried out while he was working at Reading Fraud Squad. PC Rudd said the case was one of his most stressful but also most rewarding added that the award was "another opportunity to reassure the people in Wooburn that I will do my best to sort out any problems they have."
Two elderly ladies had been milked of nearly 500,000 by a husband and wife team who befriended them. It was an investigation by PC Rudd that spanned more than two years. The fraudsters were jailed.
