A KIDDERMINSTER man died after taking heroin, alcohol and other drugs, a coroner’s court has heard.
Geoffrey Palmer, 54, of Hurcott Road, was found dead in his shared home on June 17, lying on the floor with his head resting on a TV stand, a syringe in his hand and surrounded by drug paraphernalia.
Geraint Williams, Worcestershire Senior Coroner, concluded at the Stourport inquest that Mr Palmer died from the abuse of drugs.
He said: “There was no evidence of pre-existing disease and the cause of death was a heroin overdose combined with alcohol intoxication.”
A toxicology report found the Kidderminster man had 143mg of alcohol in 100 ml of his blood – the legal drink drive limit is 80mg - and methadone in his system consistent with heroin use.
The room Mr Palmer was found in was described as “untidy, dirty and very dusty”.
