A BEWDLEY day service has the chance to be awarded a grant of up to £3,000 from a national community fund.

Reach Community Services offers support and opportunities for adults with learning difficulties and special needs within Wyre Forest on two days-a-week.

Individuals who attend the service are able to develop their confidence, communication and social skills and other skills for life, as well as meeting their friends, developing new friendships and having fun.

The organisation is one of the nominees to win the Lloyds Bank Community Fund along with three other good causes shortlisted in each community and Lloyds is inviting the public to vote for the cause they would most like to support.

Alison Coley-Smith, Reach service manager, said: “The fund will make a huge difference to Reach by enabling us to offer our support and opportunities to more individuals.

“We could develop our services further and make a positive difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities within Wyre Forest.”

Voting for the 2014 community fund is open until October 10, and can be done on-line, by text, on twitter, or in branch.

The cause which receives the most votes in each community will receive an award of £3,000, with the other groups receiving £2,000, £1,000 or £500 depending on the votes received.
