AN evening of live music in Kidderminster will raise money for three good causes.

The Your Music Charity Concert, which takes place on Saturday, October 25 at Kidderminster Town Hall, will support Kemp Hospice, The League of Friends of Kidderminster Hospital and Cancer Research UK.

Performers will include Jude Wynter, a pianist who reached the final of BBC Young Musician 2014, Kidderminster Valentines and Stourport Brass Band.

Sue Strong, who has organised the concert with her husband, said: “It will be an emotive, joyous and lively event with wonderful music.

“In the year of the First World War centenary the concert will honour fallen war heroes as well as fundraise for the vital care work of the chosen charities.

“Our audience will also be treated to a really varied programme and it will be a lovely event for everyone who attends.”

The fundraising concert, which also features Holy Trinity School Choir and Kidderminster Area Music Centre Senior String Orchestra, will conclude with communal singing of a selection of well-known war songs followed by a stirring rendition of Jerusalem.

Members of the audience are welcome to bring patriotic flags to add to the atmosphere.

The concert, which used to cover two evenings but this year will take place for one night only, has been sponsored by Crowe Clark Whitehill, Robert Arthur Davies Limited, The Ephraims Care Group, Blink Opticians Kidderminster and Big Print Kidderminster.

Tickets, which cost £8 for the hall and £10 for the balcony, can be purchased from Kidderminster Town Hall, Bewdley Tourist Information Centre, John Beard in Bridge Street, Kidderminster, Mr Cleancalls in High Street, Stourport or Judy Morris on 01562 751753.

Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
