THREE people have been charged with drug offences in the Kidderminster area.

In three separate incidents in Bewdley and Wolverley, two were involving heroin and the third involved cannabis.

Leigh Bolton, of Acacia Avenue, Bewdley, was originally charged for possession with intent to supply heroin, dangerous driving and possession of cannabis on Tuesday, October 7.

The charges came after a car, believed to be driven by the 39-year-old, made off from police at the junction of Westbourne Street and Stourport Road in Bewdley. After a short pursuit to her home address, Bolton was arrested when £3,000 worth of what is thought to be heroin was seized from her property.

She was released on police bail on Wednesday, October 8. However, the next day Bolton allegedly breached her bail conditions and was arrested and charged further for possession of heroin and breaching bail conditions. She has been remanded in custody until Monday, November 17, to appear at Worcester Crown Court.

In a separate incident, initially investigated in November 2013, Wayne Robinson, 46, of Marlpool Lane, Kidderminster, was charged today (Thursday, October 16) with allowing his premises, Drakelow Tunnels in Wolverley, to be used for growing cannabis, as well as several firearms offences.

Jason Whiley, 40, of Thorns Avenue in Brierley Hill, was also charged with being concerned in the production of cannabis at the property.

Both were released on police bail to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Thursday, October 30.

Detective Constable Colin Millward, of Kidderminster CID, said: "We take drug offences very seriously and it is a great result for police to charge individuals believed to be involved with drugs. I hope these charges illustrate our determination to protect communities from harm and bring offenders to justice."
