VISITORS to Bewdley during the Christmas lights switch on are being advised that certain roads around the town will be closed for a short period.

Accompanying the town’s illuminations on Saturday, November 29, will be the Christmas Festival which will be taking place on town centre streets from 2pm.

Throughout the day, some roads involved in the event will not be accessible by vehicles, including the closure of Load Street between 12.30pm and 8pm, which may also affect local public transport.

Load Street car park will be shut from 6am on Saturday until midnight, while parking bays will be closed from 6am until 8pm.

Severnside North and Severnside South will not be accessible between 10am and 8pm.

However, visitors will be able to benefit from free evening parking during the festive period once again.

From Saturday, November 15, until Sunday, January 11, Wyre Forest District Council is making parking on its car parks free after 4pm.

These include Dog Lane car park and Gardeners Meadow car park.

Load Steet car park is also free during this period, but is being used during the festival so will be not be used for parking on that day.
