POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was assaulted and robbed in Kidderminster.

The 17-year-old victim was walking along Bewdley Hill between 4.20am and 4.40am on Sunday (November 16) when he was approached by an unknown man.

The suspect asked the boy for a cigarette and threatened him with violence.

The man went on to punch the victim in the face, causing him to fall into the road, then he was further assaulted while he lay on the ground.

He suffered facial injuries and was treated at hospital.

Following the assault, the victim realised £20 was missing from inside his blazer pocket.

He described the suspect as bring a white man, between 22 and 28 years old, and around 5' 11" in height. At the time of the incident he was wearing baggy jeans with a short-sleeved light blue polo shirt. He was also clean shaven.
