A KIDDERMINSTER recruitment firm has signed a significant three year fundraising partnership with Acorns Children’s Hospice to become one of the charity’s official partners.

The commitment strengthens First Personnel’s longstanding support of the charity in its work caring for life-threatened children and young people and their families across the region.

The partnership means the company has committed to raising at least £10,000 per year towards the £8 million it costs Acorns to provide specialist palliative care and support to children with highly complex medical needs.

In the last year, Acorns has supported over 700 children and more than 1,050 families, including those who are bereaved. The charity relies on fundraising income, which includes money raised from official partners, for the majority of the funding required to run each of its three 10- bed hospices.

Laura Richards, corporate fundraising officer at Acorns, said: “We are delighted to announce First Personnel as an official partner of Acorns. This partnership is a fantastic commitment to help us meet the significant costs we face in our work supporting children and young people and their families.

“We are very grateful to First Personnel and look forward to working with the company in the coming months and years.”

Matthew Reddy, managing director of First Personnel, said: “We recognise the important work that Acorns does in our local communities for children and their families. Whether it’s fundraising, event sponsorship or offering volunteers, our staff are looking forward to supporting the charity’s work.”
