A KIND-hearted nurse will lose her locks this weekend to support a friend who has lost her locks while being treated for cancer.

Samantha Humphriss has decided to take part in a sponsored head shave on Saturday (January 24) at Salon 20, in Lombard Street, Stourport, to help raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

The practice nurse at Hagley Surgery in Stourbridge was inspired to do so as her  close friend who lost her hair during treatment for breast cancer.

Her friend, who is also a nurse and works at Kidderminster Hospital, continues to undergo chemotherapy sessions.

Samantha, aged 47, said: “My friend started losing her hair while she was receiving treatment for breast cancer and she took the decision to shave it completely on Christmas Day.

“I said I would do the same to support her and she didn’t think I was being serious but I really want to do it and am pleased to do so. She had no choice in the matter and mine will obviously grow back quickly.”

Samantha is looking to raise more than £200 for the charity and has set up a Just Giving page, which can be accessed by visiting: https://www.justgiving.com/Samantha-Humphriss/
