A BROKEN-DOWN lorry caused traffic mayhem on A4440 southern link road around Worcester.
Roundabouts were jammed and there were long tailbacks.
Roadworks along the stretch of road, especially at the A38 Ketch roundabout, together with heavy rain made matters worse.
Drivers told of their frustration on the Worcester News Facebook page.
Nick Ryland said: "It was before 3pm, as I started queueing at 1.45pm and it was pretty substantial then."
"One hour and seven minutes to go from Whittington to Powick island! It was a joke."
Adam Llewellyn said: "It was utter chaos!"
Paige Boland said: "I moved from Hereford to Worcester so I would be sat in less traffic. That proved me wrong tonight, didn't it?"
