PEOPLE in Wyre Forest are invited to find out more about dementia at a Care UK care home next week.
The free event will be held at Brook Court Care Home, on Oldnall Road, on Tuesday (March 10), from noon to 3pm.
Neil Mapes from Dementia Adventure will be joining the team at the home to share his knowledge and provide practical tips for those caring for someone living with dementia. Neil will help people to understand the condition, learn how memories are lost and give guidance on how to overcome communication barriers.
The event is part of an ongoing partnership between the care provider and Dementia Adventure and is designed to help family members and carers to gain a clear understanding.
Linda Clements, home manager at Brook Court, said: “At Care UK, we understand being armed with plenty of expert advice and information can make all the difference for those caring for loved ones living with dementia.
“By inviting Dementia Adventure to host this free event in partnership with Care UK, we can ensure this information is communicated clearly and concisely, with visitors having the opportunity to speak directly to the professionals in the area as well as team members from the care home.”
