POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a teenage boy in St Georges Park in Radford Avenue, Kidderminster.

On Friday, February 27, at around 8pm, a group of teenagers were playing football when the ball went astray. The boy, aged 16, approached a man to request for the ball to be given back.

The man became abusive, before grabbing him around the neck causing very slight injuries.

The man is described as white, around six foot tall, of stocky/muscular build, with dark brown or black short hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt with white writing on the front, grey jogging bottoms and trainers. He had a Nottingham Forest tattoo on his left leg, and possibly a second tattoo on the inside of his lip. The man possibly had a ring on one finger and was carrying a can of beer. He had a brown Staffordshire Bull Terrier with him.

Anyone who witnessed the assault is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 251 of February 28.
