A RED telephone box in a Worcestershire village is to become the latest place in the county to house a defibrillator.
Members of Mamble Village Community were trained by West Midlands Ambulance Service in CPR and in the use of the device that could restart the heart of someone who suffers a cardiac arrest.
Dave Rowley, advanced community paramedic who provided the training, said: “For every minute someone is in cardiac arrest, their chance of survival diminishes by ten per cent.
“The more defibrillators we have in the community, the greater the chance of saving a life.
“I would appeal to all communities, groups and organisations to embrace this opportunity and technology that can really make a difference.”
The machine will be housed in a renovated red telephone box next to the village hall.
