AFTER their eyes met across a Stourport dance floor, Audrey and Frank Wilkes have waltzed their way to 60 years of married bliss.
The couple, of Windermere Way, are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary today (Thursday, March 26).
They met at dance night at the Crown in Stourport in 1952, while Frank, 86, was on leave from the navy and Audrey, 81, was a student nurse, before they were married three years later in 1955 at Areley Kings Church.
The couple have two sons, Adrian and Christopher, and four grandchildren.
Frank, who worked as a electrician when he left the navy, said: “We met a Stourport dance while I was on leave. I took her home, and we were engaged soon after that.
“The secret to a happy marriage is just to love each other.
“Love goes over everything, that’s what I would say.”
