SWIMMERS from across Wyre Forest are being urged to make a splash and help raise vital funds to support a hospice.

Kemp Hospice will be hosting its 2015 Swimathon on Sunday, April 26, at the Feel Good Health Club (formerly The Mecure) in Bewdley from 8am to 5pm.

The aim of the event is to raise funds for the hospice which looks after people facing life threatening illnesses and provides support for affected family members including legal advice and bereavement services.

The swimathon will take place in the club’s newly refurbished pool with a choice of distances for people of all ages.

Registration for this event is £5 per person in advance and teams of family, friends and workmates can join in by requesting a team registration form.

Jackie Turner, KEMP Family support team leader said: “Grieving is a process we all experience when somebody we love dies. For some people the process can become stuck or complicated for many different reasons. This means that for some it is difficult to move forward and cope with day to day living.

“The family support team provide therapeutic help and support for as long as it is needed to enable them to move on with their lives while taking their thoughts and memories of their loved one with them”

Pre-registration is essential, so would be swimmers are asked to register online at http://www.kemphospice.org.uk/events/swimathon/ Closing date for entries is on Monday 20th April 2015
