AN award-winning discount food retailer is unveiling plans to redevelop part of the former British Sugar site with a high-quality, carefully designed food store.

The Silverwoods site, in Kidderminster, has outline planning permission for a mixed-use development and Aldi is proposing to redevelop a portion of the site, closest to Stourport Road.

Committed to consulting the local community, Aldi is holding a public exhibition where residents can find out more about its proposal, meet the project team and share their thoughts on the plans.

A spokesman for Aldi said: "We would like to encourage local residents to come along to our public exhibition and provide us with their feedback. The exhibition will be a great opportunity for people to find out more about the proposal, and what it would bring to the local area."

The exhibition will take place on Thursday, April 9, between 3pm and 7pm at St Peters Church, Birchen Coppice, Kidderminster.

If built, the store would deliver a multi-million pound investment into the local area and create approximately 40 permanent jobs for local people, with additional jobs created through construction and supply chain opportunities.
