AN ONLINE Kidderminster TV station will launch a series of short films featuring people from the area.

The Community Broadcast Channels (CBC) will unveil its ‘Idle Chat’ series tomorrow (April 1) with the episode ‘All the Balls’, which was filmed in Habberley Social Club in Kidderminster.

The episode is a tribute to popular social club member Dean ‘Wilf’ Barber, who passed away in September 2011.

CBC launched a recruitment drive back in November looking for creative people from across the West Midlands to get involved in creating the series.

Sachia Mooney, Director of Programmes, said: “Following our recruitment drive last November, we had an amazing response from many creative and talented people within our community.

“Since then, we have put together some fantastic teams all producing a variety of online programmes including ‘Idle Chat’. The majority of the cast and crew involved are those who have joined us since then – some are industry professionals, with some less experienced who are delighted to have the opportunity to get back into film production.

“I’m so excited about the passion and willingness to step up to the mark by all involved and how well received we all were at Habberley Social Club, whose patrons also enjoyed the fun side to the storyline – therefore, it only seemed right that our first episode should pay tribute to Wilf.”

The ‘Idle Chat’ series will be available at www.3ctv.uk as well as other online shows ranging from a local heritage series, to entertainment and lifestyle shows featuring special guests, performers and interviews.
