Lynne Taylor, aged 54, from Latchford, is still brought to tears when she thinks back to the day her brother Raymond Maguire was shot in cold-blood by Mark Dirom on November 24, 1994. The Bolton News reports how a gang brawl in which up to 12 men fought with sledgehammers and baseball bats could have been linked to another similar incident the previous day, The Bolton News understands. Police are investigating whether the attack, outside Allen's Fried Chicken in Bury Road, Tonge Fold, on Sunday, was linked to an incident in Castle Street on Saturday. Read the full story here.

And a Bournemouth man has been found guilty of being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog after it bit another dog at Poole Bus Station. Shane Brock, 21, appeared at Bournemouth Magistrates' Court charged under the 1991 Dangerous Dogs Act after a large bull mastiff cross breed he was walking for a friend attacked a small Bichon Frise in an alleyway at the bus station on June 5 2013.
