A LUXURY Victorian country manor house hotel set in 70 acres of Worcestershire parkland has reached the finals of the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2015.

The 21-bedrom hotel Brockencote Hall, which boasts four red AA stars and three AA rosettes for its food, in Chaddesley Corbett, near Kidderminster, has been nominated in the Small Hotel of the Year category for the third successive year.

General manager Dean Gunston said: “It’s a real team effort here at Brockencote Hall. Everyone works incredibly hard to deliver a first class offering to our guests and it is fabulous that this has once again been acknowledged by VisitEngland.

“This is the third year that we’ve reached the final, which is always a great achievement, and we’re hoping it’s our year to walk off with the top award. Watch this space!”

The VisitEngland Awards, which attracted 345 applications, celebrate the very best of English tourism and acknowledge excellence in customer service, quality and innovation.

The winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony at the Sage Gateshead on Monday May 11.

James Berresford, Chief Executive of VisitEngland, said: “It’s been another successful year for our Excellence Awards as we’ve received hundreds of applications of an extremely high standard. That’s why all the finalists should be incredibly proud that they’ve been short-listed against such tough competition.

“I’d like to congratulate all the finalists and wish them all the very best of luck on awards night at Sage Gateshead – a spectacular venue to celebrate the industry’s best.”

Brockencote Hall is part of the privately-owned Eden Hotel Collection, the AA Small Hotel Group of the Year 2014 / 2015. The collection features eight upmarket luxury hotels located across the South West, Midlands, and the Cotswolds. A ninth hotel is being redeveloped in Salcombe, South Devon.

The hall, which has a scenic lake, tennis court and restored dovecote, has won a number of accolades including three AA Rosettes in the 2014 AA Restaurant Guide as well as the AA Inspectors’ Choice / 4 Red Stars for accommodation.

Last October it was named Best Hotel for the third successive year in the Visit Worcestershire Awards for Excellence, as well as winner of the Best Business Tourism award.
