TRAVELLERS who set up home in a Stourport park are being served with eviction notices.

The group were watched by passersby and dog walkers on Monday (April 20) morning set up camp on the Stourport Town Council owned Memorial Park, in Lickhill Road, Stourport, this time with four caravans, two cars, and two lorries.

One walker, who wished to remain anonymous, said she believed more travellers would be arriving after overhearing a phone call made by one of the travellers on the site.

Another group of travellers also set up home at the Wyre Forest Community Housing Group owned park Off Borrington Road, in Kidderminster, with seven vans last Thursday (April 17).

While the group in Kidderminster moved on within a day, leaving the park the way it was found, the second were still on site by Wednesday afternoon despite being given 24 hours to leave on Tuesday.

Stourport Town Council will now be serving the group with further eviction notices with the assistance of Wyre Forest District Council and West Mercia Police.
