A BEWDLEY salon has won a place at the grand finals of the hairdressing industry’s most fashion-led live hairdressing competition.

Abacus Hair Studio fought off stiff competition at the western regional finals of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2015 and L'Oréal Men’s Image Award. held in Droitwich on Monday (April 20) and were successfully chosen to take part in the high energy grand final held in London in June.

Allison Webster-Ford and Lucy Potter had only 30 minutes to create their fashion inspired, flawless winning look under the gaze of the elite group of accomplished judges, the team were up against 60 other salons in the inspiring, high energy regional final.

But it's not the High Street salon's first rodeo as they won in 2010.

Salon owner Allison Ford said: "This is the first time we have been in the grand final since we won the L'Oréal Colour Trophy in 2010, so let’s hope that history is repeating itself and we are on track for a big win again this year. It would be amazing to win in the 60th year – definitely one for the history books."

On June 1 at London's Battersea Evolution, Abacus will have one chance at winning the famed 60th L’Oréal Colour Trophy.

The overall winners of the L'Oréal Colour Trophy will pick up a once-in-a-lifetime prize package which includes a three-day European trip with a photo shoot to showcase their winning look, a fashion shoot with a leading consumer glossy magazine.
