A HAPPY snapper from a Stourport primary school has reached the finals of a local photographic competition.
For the second year running, Aimee Hartin, from Burlish Park Primary School, Stourport beat dozens of other entries with her photograph Bee on a Flower in the annual Worcestershire Young Photographer of the Year competition organised by Beacon Camera Club Malvern .
Open to any pupil or student under the age of 19 who is in full-time education at any school or college within the county, 11-year-old Aimee was one of more than 100 entries for the prestigious prize and has been presented with a certificate from the club with a framed version of her photograph for getting so far in the competition.
Eco school coordinator Lynda Williams from the Stourport school said: "We are delighted that Aimee got through to the finals of the Young Photographer of the Year again The news couldn't have come at a better time as Aimee broke her arm a few weeks ago and needed cheering up. Aimee was presented with a certificate from the Beacon Camera Club and a framed photograph of her entry."
Entries were judged by a panel of experienced Beacon Camera Club members who have all won photographic competitions themselves, with the majority holding distinctions from the Royal Photographic Society.
