HELENA Bonham Carter is among the celebrities backing Countdown To Zero child deaths as part of Save the Children’s new campaign.

The Cinderella star has joined the likes of boyband Union J, Dominic West, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Mary Portas, Mel Giedroyc and Arlene Phillips in posing for #CountdownToZero pictures, and is encouraging the public to tweet their own.

EUROVISION Song Contest hopefuls Electro Velvet are hoping they will be able to bring the trophy back to the UK.

Alex Larke and Bianca Nicholas are representing the country at this year’s competition in Vienna on Saturday (May 23), with their electro-swing song Still In Love With You. It has been written by David Mindel and Adrian Bax White.

It has been 17 years since the UK won with Katrina And The Waves, who performed Love Shine A Light at the 1997 ceremony.

FINALLY, film star Simon Pegg has criticised the “dumbing down” of cinema.

The actor, 45, made his name in a string of comedy films such as Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz and is co-writing the new Star Trek movie.

But he said that society had become “infantalised” and that challenging films had been usurped in the box office by the vacuous.
