THE Super Cycling Man will be visiting a Kidderminster school tomorrow during his record-breaking around the world bike ride.

Will Hodson will visit the Knoll School, in Manor Avenue, on Wednesday (May 20) to speak to the pupils during their morning assembly.

Former pupil of the Knoll School, Mr Hodson, is hoping to raise £100,000 for charities including Parkinson’s UK and the World Cancer Research Fund by cycling 100,000 kilometres around the world dressed as a super hero.

To kick-start his world-tour and to engage with as many young people as possible, he is currently cycling around Britain and Ireland, dropping in on as many schools as he can to inspire thousands of children to get on their bikes and have their own adventures.

Will started his “warm-up” tour around Britain and Ireland at the beginning of April, cycling 100 kilometres from London to Brighton. He has since pedalled his way through to Bristol, Cardiff, Dublin, the Isle of Man, Scotland, and he is now heading back to London, before heading off from Tower Bridge on Sunday, May 31, for the next five years on his bike.

He hopes to inspire thousands of school children and families to following his five year-long adventure on his website, www.supercyclingman.com, which will feature a live map and plenty of videos and stories from his trip.

He said: “I can clearly remember being given talks when I was at school by people who had travelled to different parts of the world, showing areas on the world map that back then I could only dream of visiting.

“I am now aiming to be that person that inspires the next generation to go on adventures, to cycle more, or develop whatever their passion is and a challenge them to take it as far as they can.

“My overriding message is that if you work hard, your talents might just take you around the world.”
