TUESDAY MORNING CLUB - Opened by Marion Fox, the meeting of April 10 was well attended. The speaker was Mr T Keegan with his talk about milestones plus anecdotes.

The next meeting will be on May 8 with a short meeting followed by lunch out, arranged by Edna Plimley-Rodriguez, at 10am at Ambrose Hall, Kidderminster. New members welcome.

PHOENIX CLUB - George Mills' grandmother was a gypsy and he described her lifestyle a century ago, when most of their food and medication was to be found in the countryside.

The lunch venue for Tuesday is May 1 at the Angel Inn, Severnside, Stourport. Meet at noon.

On May 15, the speaker at Trinity Church Centre will be Marion Canning on an unusual job for a lady - as a professional toastmaster. The meetings begins at 2pm and visitors are welcome. For more details, call 01299 877989.

MINSTER LADIES - The next meeting will be on Wednesday at St George's Annexe, Radford Avenue, Kidderminster when the speaker will be Mrs Clarke on My Life and Hats'. Visitors welcome.

SOMERLEYTON WI - At the April meeting, president Pat Bond thanked those who had made tea bread for the March meeting's competition. Names were taken for a trip to Malvern Theatre. Angie McCarthy reported on annual council meeting.

Garth Lowe was the evening's speaker, illustrating his talk on badgers and bats with slides. For many years he was a wildlife warden at the Alfrick Reserve. Margaret Burbey won the competition, making her mask from garden greenery.

The next meeting at St Cecilia's Church is on May 8 at 7.30pm. It is resolution evening and the resolution to provide full funding for the care of the elderly will be debated.

Members are reminded to bring cakes, plants and gifts for the trading table. Visitors welcome.

FRANCHE LADIES - On May 9 the guest speaker for the evening will be Robin Skerratt, his subject is the story of clocks, starting at 8pm at Franche Village Hall, Wolverley Road.

CYCLING CLUB - There are two rides this Sunday. The A ride starts at 9am and goes to the Chase End of Malvern. The B ride starts at 9.30am and visits Pershore. Both rides leave from The Green, Blakebrook, opposite the hospital. All cyclists will be welcome and should bring a packed lunch.

On Tuesday evening there is a digital slide show at New Meeting House, Church Street. Doors open at 7.30pm. On Wednesday evening there will be a ride to Ye Old New Inn, Pound Green, leaving The Green at 7pm.

Liz Davies gave a report on the Leys Group meeting and Delia Long reported on the annual council meeting at Malvern.

Skittles had been enjoyed by the team but they did not make the finals. The annual winners for the competition were Chris Haynes and Greta Mitchell.

Mr Edwin Shore talked about taking his car and caravan to India, making light of the hazards, difficulties and breakdowns.

Edith Shelton won both competitions.

The next meeting is on May 3 at St John's Church hall, when resolutions will be discussed. Visitors welcome.
