ORGANINSERS of a major Wyre Forest countryside show are gearing up for one of the biggest events in their history.

Far Forest Society Country Side Show will be held at the Showground, Tenbury Road, Callow Hill in Rock, near Kidderminster, on August 8 and 9 from 10am.

This is the first time in more than 50 years of the event that the show will be held over two days and a new camping field has been created to enable visitors to stay on site.

The show is run entirely by volunteers from the Far Forest Society charity and manager David Bell said there will be an array of attractions and entertainment for families to enjoy.

The main show arena will have the Knights battles, The Dog & Duck Show, and a Falconry centre show.

Live music will feature on the main stage throughout the weekend while a food marquee will host demonstrations on the professional cookery theatre.

Other attractions include tractor rides, pony rides, livestock, a dog show, mobile Zoo, classic car show, fun fair and the Horticultural show.

Mr Bell said: “It's so much more than a charity event. The Far Forest Show is there for the community it has a wonderful atmosphere.

“It must be the best value family day out in the UK. Where else can you see so much professional entertainment at no extra cost?”
