A KIDDERMINSTER mother has issued an emotional appeal after her son lost his cuddly toy on a train in Birmingham after a visit to hospital.

Teresa Chandler’s son, Edward, had an appointment at Birmingham Children’s Hospital on Friday (August 7) and took his husky cuddly teddy along.

However, on the train home to Kidderminster, Edward realised he had left the cuddly toy on a bench on platform one at Birmingham Snow Hill train station.

The family went back to the station, but the teddy had gone by the time they returned.

She said: “Edward is devastated at losing his husky teddy.

“We caught the 3.33pm train from Snow Hill to Kidderminster. Edward was sat on a bench with husky and some sweets so he must have put him down and left him when I hurried him along for the train.

“We got to Smethwick when he burst out crying, so we hopped off and went straight back to Snow Hill, but the teddy was already gone.

“I put an appeal out on Facebook, I did not realise but it has been shared more than 20,000 times and on a Birmingham Facebook site, it had more than 80,000 views in a night alone.

“Now after seeing the continuous shares and kind private messages from people directly to Edward he is much more cheery and excited, as he is sure that husky will now return for sure.

“I have been completely overwhelmed by offers from members of the public nationwide to replace the toy, but it would be wonderful to reunite Edward with the original, as it was quite unique and had a lot of sentiment attached.

“He was given it as a gift by a friend who went to Lapland and got it for Edward from Father Christmas.”
