STORMS battered the region on Saturday - and one Shuttle reader captured footage of the storm blowing through Kidderminster.

The footage, which was captured in Wolverley by Frances Kellett, shows clouds forming into what looks like a tornado.

She said: "I captured this footage at around 7pm on Saturday.

"It looks like a tornado is trying to form, but I am no expert."

Even Dave Throup, from the Environment Agency, said on twitter that the clouds looked as if they had "hints of rotation" and it was "nearly a tornado".

David Rushby, from Kidderminster, who has been studying weather for some years, said: "The storm which passed over us on Saturday did have some rotation in it, which is associated with a super cell storm, much like the kind you can get in the USA.

"This kind of storm can easily produce tornadoes or funnel clouds.

"It is rare we get these kind of storms in the UK. As for myself, I love to watch them."

Another Shuttle reader, Nikki Moore, caught the storm on camera on Saturday evening in Offmore.

However, it is more bad news for Worcestershire as more rain is expected to fall today and tomorrow (Tuesday).

Around 13 millilitres of rain is expected to fall on Monday and Tuesday.
