KIDDERMINSTER Arts Festival ended on a high with audiences eagerly visiting the town centre to see what was on offer.

The Art of Tattoo event proved hugely popular and tattoo artists from across the region worked hard despite the soaring temperatures.

The street theatre was a hit with passersby who witnessed the healing skills of Charlie O’Tanney, the Brooklyn Healer. He had a steady stream of fascinated visitors in his automobile located outside the Town Hall.

Workman from the Being Frank Physical Theatre Company encouraged audience members to dance in the street and Above Boards filled the town centre with fantastic new artwork created by a team of urban artists. This was all before the torrential down pour which had hundreds of audience members seeking shelter at the Fringe Festival in Worcester Street.

The Full Beam Drive in Cinema entertained car loads of happy movie goers whilst Zombies entered the car park entertaining guests.

Loz Samuels, Wyre Forest District Council’s art and play development officer said: “The festival has been a great success this year. Don’t forget the Luminous Birds will remain on Vicar Street until the September 6 and the exhibition of images used to decorate the Comberton Hill Subway can be seen in the Library Gallery until the September 1."

The council are hoping for public feedback from the event. This can be shared by visiting facebook.com/KAF.ARTS or by emailing arts@wyreforestdc.gov.uk.
